Generations Care (Memory Care) Director

Meadowbrook Senior Living, a premier assisted-living and dementia-care community are looking for an experienced Generations Care Director. We currently seek a highly motivated Generations Care Directorwith great customer service and genuine compassion to oversee memory-care community. The Generations Care Directoris responsible for maintaining the physical and emotional health of the residents for as long as possible.

In this role, you will liaison with hospital personnel, physicians, community organizations and other health-related service agencies to provide care to the residents. In this role, you will hire, evaluate, coordinate, motivate, monitor performance, schedule and supervise department staff in accordance with company policy. In this role, you will report to the Executive Director & make recommendations to the Executive Director with respect to staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

This is a regular, full-time position and does require some weekend work. Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Act as a care manager and resource person for residents and their families
  • Conduct and oversee the completion of all resident assessments and administering medication
  • Hiring, supervising, training and performance managing department staff
  • Supervise Care staff: Caregivers, Medication Aides, Nurses
  • Scheduling and ensuring adequate staffing in accordance with policies, budgets, and regulations
  • Promote and help create a positive reputation of our community
  • Ensure all federal, state and local regulations and policies governing resident care are closely monitored and carried out

Job Requirements

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in a leadership role in dementia or long-term care environment preferred
  • (2) years’ experience providing residential care to the elderly or similar experience with specialized dementia care programs.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • A flexible, energetic people person, capable of managing diverse personalities and projecting care and professionalism in all work-related situations
  • Ability to embrace each resident with Integrity
  • Previous experience supervising care staff (preferred): Caregivers, Medication Aides, Nurses
  • Prefer two years of college in human services or health care field
